I read Highlander’s Revenge, at the request of the author, Barbara Bard, in exchange for an honest review. It is Book 3 in the Highlanders of the McCall Clan series. This is a quick easy read, and will keep lovers of historical romance novels entertained.
The story revolves around Alastar and Rebecca. Finally free of Lord Athelred Flynn’s dungeon, Alastar planned to devote his life to getting revenge on the man who murdered his father. He would then take his father’s place as the Blue Thistle – leader of their people. He had no time for affairs of the heart, but then he met Rebecca.
Highlander’s Revenge is full of adventure, intrigue, betrayal, love, and, of course, sexual tension. It’s a lovely story, but the writing needs a lot of work. There are far too many grammatical errors to have been published in its current form. This story and its author deserve a better editor and proofreader. I give it 4 stars for the story, but only 3 for the writing.
